Polestar 6 is the production version of the highly popular concept called Polestar O2. It will be based on Swedish automaker&#8217;s in-house vehicle platform. This new platform will allow Volvo to use giant castings like Tesla&#8217;s Giga Press. Future Polestar and Volvo EVs, including Polestar 6, will be much lighter than current generation models. 
Customers who signed up for the Polestar 6 unfortunately will have to wait until 2026. In the mean time, you can watch its official introduction video down below.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

The BYD Seal U Has Been Launched in China with a Price Starting at $18,040

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

Some EVs in Dubai Continues Through Flooded Streets!

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

A New Tesla Roadster Will Accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in ~1 Second!

Tesla has become an automotive giant that builds electric vehicles all over the world. From the old GM-Toyota factory in Fremont, California to China&#8217;s largest EV production hub in Shanghai, Tesla cars are made in five locations (including Tesla Semi pilot line in Nevada) on three different continents.
Elon Musk calls its Tesla plants &#8216;<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/news/how-many-tesla-gigafactories" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gigafactories&#8217;</a>. These production sites are currently building five different electric vehicles. Tesla Model Y is the most popular EV in the world. Understandably, it has the most diverse production operation as well. Model Y has been built in four locations; Fremont Factory, Giga Shanghai, Giga Texas, and Giga Berlin. Mid-size electric sedan Model 3 is manufactured at the Fremont and Shanghai factories. High-end EVs Model S and X&#8217;s production is exclusive to Fremont facility. And the newest member of the Tesla family, the electric truck Tesla Semi has been in low-volume production at a manufacturing site close to Giga Nevada. Semi&#8217;s mass production will be held at Giga Texas, hopefully starting next year.

Giga Shanghai is Tesla&#8217;s export hub and has the highest production output among other gigafactories. Therefore, Shanghai factory produces more than half of the Model Ys and Model 3s built in the world. That will change when the new Texas and Berlin factories ramp up their Model Y production. According to the latest info, Giga Berlin will reach a 5,000 Model Ys per week production rate in Q1 2023. Texas facility&#8217;s output will be lower than Berlin because of the slower than expected implementation of the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/what-is-structural-battery-ctc-ctb-ev-battery-packs-explained">structural battery pack</a> that uses Tesla&#8217;s proprietary cell design 4680.

According to rumors, the Shanghai factory would get a chance in 2023 to produce Chinese versions of the Model S and Model X to avoid hefty import taxes. Tesla China will also develop and produce a budget-friendly Tesla model at the expansion site right next to Giga Shanghai.
Cybertruck is the most desired future model that Tesla fans eagerly waiting for. It will be made in Giga Texas, where a special production line is designed specifically for the famous electric pickup truck. The unique design and the platform of the Cybertruck will allow Tesla to reduce production costs a lot. That will help Texas-based company lower its starting price to keep up with <a href="https://www.licarco.com/ford-f-150-lightning-pro-extended-range">Ford&#8217;s F-150 Lightning</a> and the Amazon-backed Rivian&#8217;s promising offering <a href="https://www.licarco.com/rivian-r1t">R1T</a>.
Tesla&#8217;s second-generation Roadster is also due production in Texas. Tesla is committed to making Austin, Texas its largest manufacturing hub. There is a 4680 battery cell production line in Texas as well. Both the Cybertruck and Roadster will only be possible with the new structural battery pack and Tesla&#8217;s bigger cell design.
