Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.

ZF develops a heated seat belt in the most compact way possible based on the request of the automobile industry. This solution can be quickly integrated into the mass production line of existing cars. It looks like a normal belt and is produced in a normal belt thickness.
According to the calculation of the German company, the electric car range, which decreases during the winter months, can be extended up to 15% thanks to this belt. The seat belt, which may instantly heat the driver or passenger&#8217;s upper body and waist, is not a new concept. In 2018, it was shared that Ford received a patent for a similar belt. The following year, a heated belt was also used in a safety vehicle developed by Mercedes. However, a solution as compact as ZF and in a form that can be integrated into existing production has not been offered to the market until now.
In order to minimize the seasonal range difference in electric vehicles, not only heated belts are developed. Advanced heat pumps that enable heating/cooling in a shorter time with less energy compared to PTC heaters, thermal management systems, and BMSs that provide high-accuracy tracking of batteries and battery cells indicate that the concept of winter range will not be as scary as it is today in the next few years.

ZF Heated Seat Belts to Increase Range in Electric Vehicles

Ram has refrained from joining the electric-truck race as Chevy is preparing to introduce the Silverado EV and Ford is busy manufacturing several F-150 Lightnings. However, Ram recently showed the 1500 Revolution BEV model at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show(CES). The manufacturer introduced an electric 1500 pickup in 2024 and offered the first clues as to the brand&#8217;s potential creative path.

<h2>RAM 1500 Electric Pickup Has Fascinating Appearance</h2>
With a swept-back windscreen and a lengthened wheelbase, the design has a modern appearance. The design also has coach doors, allowing Ram to eliminate the B-pillar to facilitate entrance and exit by opening opposite the front doors. These fancy doors are probably not going to be used in fact. But the lightweight, 3D-printed cameras that take the place of the side-view mirrors may if U.S. rules change. The wheels of the 1500 Revolution, similar to those on Rolls-Royces, have light-up center caps. They are 24 inches in diameter and 35 inches in diameter, respectively.
<h2>Ram Track Enables Various Interior Designs</h2>
Compared to the present gas-powered truck, the cabin is four inches larger and has &#8220;Ram Track,&#8221; a floor-mounted rail connection system that enables various interior designs. It is also possible to add third-row jump seats to the two rows of seating to boost capacity. According to Ram, these seats are installed in the motorized mid-gate and may be linked to the bed, echoing the Subaru Brat from the late 1970s. Sadly, Ram didn&#8217;t share any images of the jump seats. However, the mid-gate is also believed to have a pass-through that reaches all the way to the frunk. The octagonal steering wheel features small screens. On the glass roof, there are electrochromic panels with individually configurable opacity.
