The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Audi Q6 E-Tron | 255 KM Range with a 10-Minute Charge!

Mercedes-Benz EQG debuted last year at the Munich Mobility Show. According to Autocar, fully electric G Wagon will use a silicone-anode battery for boosting its range and performance. It will be the first Mercedes to feature a battery that uses a high-silicone anode. EQG will not only offer more range but also weigh much lighter and perform better.
Mercedes and Sila Nanotechnologies collaborated to develop high-silicone batteries in 2019. This year in May, two companies signed a supply agreement for future Mercedes EVs. The new battery cell with silicone anode can achieve a volumetric energy density of 800 Wh/l, according to Sila Nanotechnologies. German carmaker first used the new battery inside its astonishing EV concept called <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/mercedes-vision-eqxx/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vision EQXX</a>. This concept can offer more than 1,000 kilometers of range, thanks to a 100-kWh battery pack that weighs only 495 kilograms and occupies less space inside the vehicle&#8217;s body.
Lithium-ion battery cells mostly use natural/or synthetic graphite as the main material for the anode. China is the dominant supplier of both kinds of graphite. To decrease their dependency on China, western companies have been looking for an alternative. Silicone is the most viable option, as it can store significantly more lithium ions than graphite could. The first successful example of this anode will be used in the electric G Wagon. Sila Nanotechnologies and Mercedes will continue their partnership in other future Mercedes vehicles.

Fully electric EQG will not only feature an energy-dense battery but also an advanced powertrain. Electric G Wagon will have four electric motors, two on the front and the other two on the rear axle. These motors will carry their own gearboxes with fixed ratios. Mercedes is also going to include its most advanced software package that imitates the functionality of the gasoline-engined G Wagon&#8217;s three differential locks.
German carmaker is also looking for an opportunity to implement its newly-acquired British motor company YASA&#8217;s axial flux motors. These compact solutions can produce more torque and weigh less for boosting both range and performance, like the new battery. YASA supplied axial flux motors to Ferrari&#8217;s SF90 Stradale and Koenigsegg&#8217;s Regera. EQG could use the extra torque for an improved off-road experience. Unfortunately, G Wagon fans will have to wait for a couple of years to buy this fascinating piece of technology. Mercedes-Benz is planning to start building the first electric G-Class vehicle in 2025.

Mercedes-Benz will soon launch its first electric SUVs, which will be based on the EV-dedicated EVA platform, according to Autocar.co.uk. The new models will technically have the same underpinnings and will be called EQS SUV and EQE SUV, respectively. 
The German brand has already three fully-electric SUVs on its portfolio today, namely <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/cars/mercedes-eqc-400-4matic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EQC</a>, <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/cars/mercedes-eqa-350-4matic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EQA</a>, <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/cars/mercedes-eqb-350-4matic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EQB</a>. But those models were based on existing GL-Series ICE vehicles. Mercedes first introduced its EV-dedicated platform called EVA last year. EQS and EQE are much more efficient electric vehicles compared to those three &#8216;unpure&#8217; electric SUVs, thanks to the new platform. EQS SUV and EQE SUV will also benefit from the luxury carmaker&#8217;s latest tech.
The SUV variant of the EQS will reportedly come with a 108-kWh battery pack and two electric motors. It will offer up to 523 horsepower and 854 Nm of torque.
EQE SUV will be less powerful, and yet also comes with a dual-motor option, which will allow this vehicle to offer 291 HP, 530 Nm of torque, and four-wheel drive. E-Class electric SUV will have a 90.6-kWh battery, but it will still be using a 400V electrical architecture.
EQS SUV is expected to cost around €110,000. EQE SUV will be much cheaper at around €90,000. Both of these large-size SUVs will be introduced in China. The S-Class electric SUV is going to the Beijing motor show in April. EQE SUV will be previewed at the Guangzhou motor show in November.
The production of the high-end SUVs will start at Mercedes&#8217; Alabama factory in the United States, which currently builds petrol engine GLS and GLE SUV models. The German company will start mass production before the year ends.
<h2>First Electric Maybach to Be Called Maybach EQS 600 SUV</h2>
Mercedes will offer both regular and AMG versions of the EQS SUV and EQE SUV. There will also be a Maybach version of the EQS, which will be called the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 600 SUV. It will produce around 600 horsepower and also feature the most luxurious interior Mercedes ever used. 
The first electric Maybach was unveiled as a concept at IAA Munich 2021 last year. The production version will be very similar to the concept Maybach you can watch below. It will most likely cost more than €200,000 in Europe.
