Denza, initially a 50:50 EV joint-venture between Mercedes-Benz and Chinese automaker BYD, was reorganized back in December 2021. It&#8217;s now 90 percent owned by BYD and Denza-branded vehicles are still mostly being designed by Mercedes. Denza D9 is the first model launched after the huge revamp of the Denza. 
It&#8217;s a luxury MPV available in both plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrain. D9 can accomodate up to 7 people and yet it offers decent luggage capacity.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

The BYD Seal U Has Been Launched in China with a Price Starting at $18,040

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

The 2024 BYD Han Has Officially Been Released | Starting At $25,000

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

🟢Announcing that it will convert diesel mining trucks to electric in 2021 together with #ABB, #Hitachi shared that the first vehicle has been produced.
⛏️The giant truck started to be used in a copper-gold mine in Zambia. It climbs with an electrical connection that feeds the battery, similar to a trolleybus, while going to pick up load. When turning downhill while loaded, it recharges its battery thanks to regenerative braking.
🔋In this way, ABB and Hitachi completed the transformation with a smaller one instead of a megawatt-hour battery. They made this possible thanks to the regenerative braking ability of the huge electric motors seen in the prototype photo.
🔌Mining truck&#8217;s previously had a giant internal combustion engine with 16 cylinders and 2,534 horsepower. It will relatively reduce the impact of mining on the environment by ending diesel consumption and zeroing out emissions after the conversion to electric.

🟢 Equipped with a 102.7 kWh battery manufactured by #CATL, the 7-seater MPV can reach a charging speed of 532 kW DC. This enables it to reach 80% charge in as little as 10 minutes.
🔌 By the end of the year, #LiAuto plans to install over 2,000 ultra-high-speed charging stations in China. In 2023, the company managed to almost triple its sales, primarily through range-extender models, securing a leading position in the market. With its new facility in Beijing capable of producing 100,000 vehicles, Li Auto is also entering the fully electric vehicle segment.
📊 Having sold 133,000 vehicles in 2022 and ending 2023 with record sales of around 376,000, Li Auto aims to surpass the 800,000 mark in 2024.

6 Seater Electric Minivan From Volvo: EM90

Volvo has unveiled plans to sell an all-electric minivan in China, where it will be one of the company&#8217;s top-of-the-line cars, alongside the EX90 SUV. There is no information on when it will be released or whether it will be sold outside of China. But we have a pretty decent idea as to which newly launched car it will be matched to.
The news that there will be a Volvo version came during a media briefing held by Qin Peiji, President of Volvo Cars Greater China Sales Company. According to some reports, Volvo will reveal its electric people carrier in concept form in the third quarter of 2023 and the production version will be shown and launched before the end of the year.
The six-seat Zeekr 009 is a vehicle of the same design that rides on the same Geely Sustainable Experience Architecture platform that the Volvo will be manufactured on. During a press conference given by Qin Peiji, President of Volvo Cars Greater China Sales Company, it was announced that there will also be a Volvo model. Volvo will unveil its electric people carrier in concept form in the third quarter of 2023, and the production version will be displayed and unveiled before the year is through.

Both Volvo and Zeekr vehicles will be sold in China, but neither brand&#8217;s parent corporation, Geely, will offset the other&#8217;s sales. At the factory opening ceremony on October 29, we will see the start of mass production for TOGG, which set out to create a global brand with 100 percent local intellectual and industrial property and lay the groundwork for the Turkish mobility ecosystem. By the end of the first quarter of 2023, the electric SUV in the C segment will be available on the market after passing all necessary technical certification tests on an international level. Togg, which not only produces electric cars but has also started to work on establishing its own charging network, will establish 600 charging stations in 81 provinces of Turkey with the Trugo brand and provide high-speed charging service.
<h2>Work on the Localization of the Engine Continues</h2>
Minister Varank stated that TOGG will be on the market with a minimum 51 percent localization rate and stated that &#8220;it will reach a minimum 65 percent locality in 2025&#8221;. Varank also stated that the citizens showed great interest in TOGG and that the company could make a plan in the coming days regarding collecting pre-orders.

Turkey’s Domestic Car TOGG’s Factory will be Open on October 29

<a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars?filter=voyah">Voyah</a> announced that the first batch of 500 FREE EVs are on their way to Norway. Deliveries will hopefully start in late November. Chinese brand first confirmed its European expansion in February 2022 and later opened a showroom in Oslo, Norway.

Voyah is a EV-only brand owned by China&#8217;s one of the largest automakers Dongfeng Motor. Its first vehicle is called <a href="https://www.licarco.com/2022-voyah-free-ev">Voyah FREE</a>, a mid-range electric SUV that has both a range extender and a fully-electric version.
FREE EV comes with a dual motor AWD powetrain, which is capable of producing 490 HP, 720 Nm of torque, and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. 2022 version of this vehicle has a huge 106-kWh battery pack and a CLTC range rating of 631 kilometers.
The electric SUV will be first launched in Norway. Norwegian customers has been pre-ordering Voyah vehicles since June. More Voyah showrooms will appear throughout Norway in the next couple of months.

The automaker&#8217;s second vehicle is also coming to Europe next year. Voyah Dreamer is a 7-seater luxury electric MPV. This model has also an EREV version with a range extender petrol engine. Fully-electric Dreamer can travel up to 605 kilometers, thanks to a 108.7-kWh battery pack option.

Tesla still has a long way forward to be the production giant Elon wants it to become. There are four EV manufacturing plants that Tesla operates today; Fremont, Giga Shanghai, Giga Berlin, and Giga Texas. The automaker will build 6 to 8 more gigafactories in the future. Each factory will be designed to handle at least 1 to 2 million EV production annually. There is no certain timetable for the future factories but Elon heavily hinted that Tesla is looking for a third EV factory location in the North America region, including Canada, Mexico, and United States.
From what we understand, Tesla is certainly planning on increasing its annual output to almost 20 million vehicles in the next decade. This figure will make Tesla become the world&#8217;s biggest automaker. The company will not only produce passenger cars but also electric trucks, pick-ups, and MPVs as well.
