Dacia unveiled the new Spring Extreme as part of the Brussels Motor Show in January 2023. It has an upgraded electric powertrain that offers 65 horsepower (48 kW). The cheap EV&#8217;s new version still has the same 26.8-kWh battery pack, which is enough to travel 305 kilometers in city traffic. 
Since its launch in 2021, Dacia Spring has received more than 100,000 orders. To further attract customers buying a budget-friendly EV, the Romanian automaker upgraded the old and slow electric motor with a much faster one. This time Dacia Spring is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.7 seconds, a significant improvement compared to the original Spring&#8217;s disappointing performance of 19.1 seconds.

2023 Dacia Spring Extreme

Dacia Spring is the first electric car that Romanian carmaker launched. It is manufactured in China’s Hubei region. Compact SUV has been available in Europe since March 2021.
Dacia Spring is probably the cheapest electric SUV on the market right now. It’s meant as a city car that provides very efficient consumption figures, 11.9 kWh per hundred kilometers.
Dacia Spring comes with a 27.4 kWh battery which gives 230 kilometers of range on a single charge. Charging is a little bit slow in this budget SUV, from 0 to 80 percent in less than one hour.
Exterior and interior of the vehicle are pretty much the same with any other Dacia vehicle, simple on the outside and hard plastic on the inside. This car will be available in most of the Europe and Turkey before 2022. China and Latin America/India have very similar Renault badged versions (Renault K-ZE and Renault Kwid, respectively) of the Spring available to order for a few years.
<h2>Performance</h2>
Romania’s first electric car carries a small 44 horsepower electric drive unit, allowing the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h of speed in 19.4 seconds, probably the worst speeding performance among the new cars available. But Dacia Spring isn’t meant for long journeys either, do not expect any EV-like instant torque feeling or sports car grade speeding performance from this compact SUV.
Dacia wants this small electric SUV to be the average city car, providing more than 200 kilometers range, enough space to accommodate 4 adults and a little bit of luggage and very efficient, zero-emission drive around the city. And if you would like a more efficient driving session, Eco mode will give you 31 horsepower and limit top speed to100 km/h. Sure, it will be disaster for a highway drive but driving around the city and consuming lowest amount of energy while waiting for the traffic jam to be unstuck is the main idea here.
<h2>Design</h2>
Everything is aimed for reducing costs in the Spring, because of that entry-level Dacia Spring does not have a touchscreen infotainment unit. But semi-digital dashboard is available for all of the Spring versions. Non-adjustable steering wheel allows driver to clearly see this digital gauge cluster. There is also an optional rear camera placed in the “Dacia” logo. And that’s all the technological equipment that Spring has on its setup.
Back seats of the Dacia Spring are not very comfortable for the average adult passengers, very little leg room and hard seats with no support will definitely feel like sitting on the pavement. Luggage capacity is 270 liters in this small SUV, enough for the weekend groceries, but long journeys will be tough with this small luggage and uncomfortable back row.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Spring has a mediocre 27.4 kWh battery. Dacia says that Spring drivers will be able to drive more than 300 kilometers on a single charge if they don’t exceed the speed limits on the city traffic where EVs most efficient to run.
Thanks to optional features, Dacia Spring has a version that supports 50 kW DC charging. 0-80% in 56 minutes while AC charging will take 4 hours to fully charge the battery.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

The BYD Seal U Has Been Launched in China with a Price Starting at $18,040

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

The 2024 BYD Han Has Officially Been Released | Starting At $25,000

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Audi Q6 E-Tron | 255 KM Range with a 10-Minute Charge!

🟢Announcing that it will convert diesel mining trucks to electric in 2021 together with #ABB, #Hitachi shared that the first vehicle has been produced.
⛏️The giant truck started to be used in a copper-gold mine in Zambia. It climbs with an electrical connection that feeds the battery, similar to a trolleybus, while going to pick up load. When turning downhill while loaded, it recharges its battery thanks to regenerative braking.
🔋In this way, ABB and Hitachi completed the transformation with a smaller one instead of a megawatt-hour battery. They made this possible thanks to the regenerative braking ability of the huge electric motors seen in the prototype photo.
🔌Mining truck&#8217;s previously had a giant internal combustion engine with 16 cylinders and 2,534 horsepower. It will relatively reduce the impact of mining on the environment by ending diesel consumption and zeroing out emissions after the conversion to electric.

Dacia fully electric Spring, which has sold over 140,000 units since 2021, has been updated. The vehicle, with its entire bodywork except the roof receiving a facelift, has been aligned with the company’s new design philosophy.
The new Spring still manages to be the lightest electric car on the market with a weight of 984 kg despite having a more feature-rich equipment.

Europe’s Cheapest Electric Car Dacia Spring Gets Cheaper and Updated!

🟢#Hyundai will produce its budget-friendly electric car. The company will launch this year in Europe. 
🏭 Lionel French Keogh, the company&#8217;s manager in charge of France, confirmed that the mini SUV Casper will come to Europe as a fully electric vehicle. He also shared that it could be produced in Czechia to benefit from incentives in Europe. However, outside Czechia, Hyundai Assan&#8217;s Kocaeli factory (Turkey) may also be one of the options considered for production.
🔋Hyundai Casper EV will come with a range of 300 km on a single charge. The vehicle has a starting price of €22,000 and an SUV-style body design. It will compete with Renault&#8217;s Dacia Spring. The European price of the vehicle will decrease to €15,000 with incentives.

A budget-friendly compact SUV from Hyundai!

🟢The budget friendly electric Spring sold more than 61,000 units in Europe alone in 2023. The vehicle will appear with its new version at the Geneva Motor Show at the end of February.
🔋It is claimed that the compact vehicle will use #Renault&#8217;s new electric vehicle platform. It went on sale in China last year for $9,000 with a 28.9 kWh battery, new front design and improved infotainment system.
🚗 Dacia Spring was sold approximately 1,500 units in Turkey last year. It may be withdrawn from the market in 2024 due to the regulation requiring the distributor to open its own authorized services since it is of Chinese origin. We will soon find out whether the renewed version will be produced in Europe after the platform change.

Dacia Spring Will Be Completely Redesigned!

Electric Dacia Sandero is coming! Company CEO Denis Le Vot has officially confirmed the Sandero EV, which will be the cheapest electric vehicle in the B segment hatchback category.
The electric Sandero is a candidate to be the cheapest electric just like the Spring. It will officially go on sale in 2027 or 2028. The vehicle, which will be based on the CMF-BEV platform, will be developed with the Renault 5 infrastructure.
The technical details of Sandero, which will be completely electric in the fourth generation, are not yet clear. However, it is stated that even a sodium ion battery can be used to reduce the cost. Its price is expected to be in the 20k-25k euro price range, and it is expected to offer a city-oriented range and charging speed values.
