The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

The BYD Seal U Has Been Launched in China with a Price Starting at $18,040

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

The self-described global technology company, based in London, UK, claims it is planning cutting-edge manufacturing and research facilities in Morocco, where a few major international automakers have been producing ICE vehicles for some time, including Stellantis, which manufactures the Peugeot 208 in Kenitra, and the Renault Group, which produces Dacia and Renault models at its Tangiers plant.
<h2>Rapid Acceleration is Expected for Electric Vehicle Production Along with Bus and Motorcycle Production in Africa</h2>
But there has never been a mass production of passenger EVs built on the continent, except for a few African businesses that focus on building or retrofitting electric buses and motorcycles.
Mohammed Yehya El Bakkali, the company&#8217;s CEO, and Mohammed Hicham Senhaji Hannoun, executive chairman and chief technology officer, established Atlas in 2021 with &#8220;substantial private funding,&#8221; according to the official news announcement.
The companies want to sell an inexpensive, useful, and pragmatic zero-emission vehicle that draws inspiration from Moroccan style and identity. The vehicle will be manufactured with emerging markets in mind, such as some regions of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, where little to no EV infrastructure exists, and will not yet have a name or a designated production plant.
The UK-based company also states that it will concentrate on offering &#8220;advanced range-enhancing technology, battery, and charging networks,&#8221; though specifics have not yet been disclosed.
This newly founded company is attempting to create an accessible electric passenger automobile in Africa. But at the same time, we have our doubts about the conclusion since creating a mass-produced car that is dependable, economical, and appealing is a very difficult task, especially for someone who is just starting out.
