Hyundai unveiled its long-waited electric sedan IONIQ 6 in June 2022. Its technical details and official renderings were made available soon after. There are four variants of the IONIQ 6; two rear-wheel-drive options with 53-kWh and 77.4-kWh battery packs. There will also be two all-wheel-drive models that can produce up to 325 horsepower. Rear-wheel-drive IONIQ 6 with the smaller battery will consume around 14 kWh every 62 miles (100 km) travelled.

2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 AWD costs $49,000 in United States. Its EPA range estimate is 305 miles. The most efficient Ioniq 6 variant is the RWD Long Range model, which can travel up to 361 miles on a single charge. Ioniq 6 SE RWD Long Range US pricing is around $45,500. IONIQ 6&#8217;s Limited trim level includes Surround View Monitor, Blind-spot View Monitor, wider sunroof, power folding side mirrors, V2L capability, Bose Premium Audio sisystem with 8-speakers, power passenger seat with lumbar support, ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, and the not-so-necessary electronic powertrain sound called e-ASD. 
None of these variants are eligible for the $7,500 tax credit. Because Hyundai imports all IONIQ 6 modells from its home country. Korean automaker has plans to build a new EV-dedicated factory in the United States, but it will take years for Hyundai EVs to earn eligibility for the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/which-electric-vehicles-are-eligible-for-tax-credit-in-us">IRA tax credit</a>.

BYD Seal U is a rebadged version of the Chinese EV maker&#8217;s &#8216;<a href="https://www.licarco.com/2023-byd-song-plus-ev">Song Plus</a>&#8216; model. It&#8217;s defined as a D-segment sports utility vehicle with its 4,785 millimeters long body. There are two battery options available for purchase; standard range (420-km WLTP) with a 71.8-kWh LFP battery and long range (500-km WLTP) with a larger 87-kWh pack. XXXXX 
The Seal U is the sixth vehicle (first five vehicles are Tang, Han, Atto 3, Seal, and Dolphin) that BYD exports to European countries. Even though BYD describes Seal U as a D-SUV, it&#8217;s a direct rival to Volkswagen&#8217;s ID.4, Skoda&#8217;s Enyaq iV, Renault&#8217;s Megane E-Tech, and other electric C-segment SUVs. Seal U&#8217;s biggest advantage is the more capable infotainment system with 4G/5G connection, DiLink operating system, and third-pary app support. 
Chinese automaker will release more details regarding Seal U at IAA Mobility in September. Seal U deliveries will begin in Q4 2023.

Denza N7 is the second vehicle launch since Mercedes-BYD joint venture&#8217;s recent revamp. BYD is now own this EV company&#8217;s 90 percent, while Mercedes is holding the minorty 10 percent stake. German carmaker is still managing the design work of Denza EVs. 
As brand&#8217;s next generation premium electric SUV, Denza N7 first revealed at the Auto Shanghai in April 2023. It&#8217;s based on BYD&#8217;s modular e-platform 3.0 architecture featuring CTB (cell-to-body) battery pack and compact powertrain unit capable of delivering more than 500-horsepower. 
There are two variants of N7 available to order: N7 RWD and N7 AWD. The rear-wheel-drive version offers up to 702 kilometers of range and 230-kW power. The dual motor AWD version comes equipped with the same 91.4-kWh battery pack. It can produce up to 531 horsepower, deliver around 630 kilometers of CLTC range.

Denza N7 is the first passenger vehicle to adopt a dual-port DC charging technology. N7&#8217;s top charging speed is 230-kW when both ports are in use. It can deliver 350 kilometers of range in 15 minutes. 
BYD implements its next-gen air suspension called DiSus-A into the Denza N7. Thanks to this smart system, N7&#8217;s suspension height, stifness and damping can be adjusted. It&#8217;s one of the most comfortable electric SUVs on the market. 
There are a total of six displays inside the N7. Its sound system is developed by French audio technology company called Devialet. Almost every aspect of the N7 is designed in a way to make its driver feel special. It supports 50W wireless smartphone charging and comes with capacitive digital climate control buttons. 
Denza N7&#8217;s starting price is around $41,700 or 301,800 CNY in China. This price tag belongs to single motor RWD version. All-wheel-drive N7 costs a little bit more at $44,400.

Zeekr X Long Range AWD

Almost two years after its Chinese debut, the all-electric shooting brake Zeekr 001 has finally arrived at European shores. Zeekr, by the way, is an EV-dedicated car brand founded by China&#8217;s largest privately-owned automaker Geely. 
Thanks to its streamlined design, Zeekr&#8217;s first vehicle offers an impressive 620 kilometers of WLTP range. According to the Chinese brand&#8217;s official statement, 001 achieves great efficiency with the help of a low wind resistance body design and CATL&#8217;s groundbreaking cell-to-pack (CTP) technology, which dramatically increases the energy density of the Zeekr 001&#8217;s 100-kWhy battery pack. 
Zeekr 001 comes equipped with a 22-kW AC onboard charger as standard. This equipment can fully charge 001&#8217;s huge battery in only five and a half hours. It&#8217;s also capable of charging at up to 200-kW when connected to a DC charger. 
There are three variants of this electric shooting brake available in Europe: Zeekr 001 Long Range RWD, 001 Performance AWD, and 001 Privilege AWD. The long-range version can travel up to 620 kilometers and offers an 0-100 km/h acceleration performance of 7.2 seconds. Its rear-wheel-drive powertrain can produce 272 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque. 
The Performance AWD and Privilege AWD variants come with a 544-HP (400-kW) dual motor system that helps Zeekr 001 accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds! But the WLTP range is reduced to 590 and 580 kilometers, respectively. The range-topping Zeekr 001 Privilege AWD differs from other versions with an air suspension system, an extra 5.7-inch rear climate control display, two-tone paint, and some other exterior and interior design tweaks.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

The BYD Seal U Has Been Launched in China with a Price Starting at $18,040

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Organizing an extraordinary test for its revamped electric sedan Exeed ES, Chery subjected two moving vehicles traveling at 120 km/h to crash into the stationary test vehicle from different angles and sides.
Post-crash analysis revealed that the columns did not bend to a degree that would prevent the doors from opening, door handles automatically opened at the moment of impact, and the emergency call function was quickly activated.
Additionally, the chassis-integrated battery showed no issues that would endanger the driver and passengers.
The long-range rear-wheel-drive version of the 2025 Exeed ES, which promises a range of 900 kilometers, will be available for pre-order in China next Friday.

CHERY’s New Electric Sedan’s 120 km/h ‘Triple Crash Test’

Tesla drivers can gain 80 km extra range if they pay just $1,600!
Tesla recently launched a software option to extend the range of standard-range Model Y vehicles, which were discontinued in the U.S. market.
The company revealed that these vehicles were equipped with the battery of the long-range rear-wheel drive Model Y and were software-limited. Tesla is now offering packages ranging from $1,000 to $1,600, promising an increase of up to 80 km in range.
This range extension option is available only for Model Y vehicles sold in the U.S. with Panasonic-produced NCA 2170 cells. In Europe and Turkey, the rear-wheel-drive versions use batteries produced by LG.

🔋Equipped with a 150 kWh semi-solid-state battery, the 5.1-meter vehicle will achieve a range of 1,050 km. Initially, due to the high cost, this battery option will only be available through a leasing model.

The NIO ET7 Reaches 1,050 KM!

🟢IM Motors, a joint venture between SAIC Motor and Alibaba Group announced that the electric fastback L6, which will be unveiled at a technology launch on April 8th, will come with a 130 kWh solid-state battery.

#BMW&#8217;s hydrogen-fuel cell vehicle fleet was toured around the world for testing last year. The fleet has started long-term service in South Africa for the first time.
The BMW has been working on for four years in cooperation with #Toyota. The company continues to exist as a small-scale project where different usage scenarios are tested for now.
After being tested in various parts of the world, the iX5 Hydrogen fleet of the platinum giant Anglo American Platinum, which came to South Africa for long-term tests, will operate with a sustainable transportation concept with the &#8216;green hydrogen&#8217; produced by the company.
Stating that it has not yet made a definitive decision on producing a hydrogen car that everyone can buy, BMW wants to decide on a customer-oriented investment after tests that will continue for a few more years.

Even though its platform has not changed, it is certain that the new Taycan is much better than the old one in almost every aspect. While the Turbo S version previously completed the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.8 seconds, this time decreases to 2.4 seconds in the renewed Taycan.
The 2024 Porsche Taycan can reach 952 horsepower thanks to the new rear engine. It can reflect this performance on the road for a much longer time with its new generation heat pump thermal management system and inverter. The sports vehicle with 800-volt electric architecture can also charge for five minutes at speeds above 320 kW.
The German manufacturer states that the old generation Taycan was charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 37 minutes at 15 degrees, and that this decreased to 18 minutes with the new Taycan.
The new Taycan, whose small battery option increases from 79 kWh to 89 kWh, and whose Peformance Battery Plus option increases its capacity from 93 to 105 kWh, will hit the roads in Turkey in the spring, simultaneously Europe and the world.
With all these innovations, the starting price increases from 93,000 euros to 105,530 euros. Customers who want to buy the Taycan with 952 HP and a large battery have to pay 217,000 euros.

#Toyota has renewed the first electric sedan bZ3, developed together with Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD and its production partner FAW.
The 2024 Toyota bZ3 is offered for sale in China at the same price as the 2023 version (169,800 yuan = ~ $23,650). The vehicle comes with minor physical updates other than new interior trim colors, renewed door trim, and armrest designs.
The bZ3, whose old version was recalled due to two problems, one with the door lock mechanism and the other with the battery management system, promises to offer a smoother experience in the new model.

The electric sedan can cover 517 km on a single charge in standard range according to Chinese standards. It reaches 616 km in long range. It must be said that the long-range bZ3 is quite competitive with its price tag of $26,700.
Toyota has managed to sell more than 23,000 units of the bZ3. The company started producing the vehicle in March 2023. Corolla&#8217;s electric counterpart could be rolled out outside China this year as a joint Toyota-BYD project.

The driver also goes to the service for battery replacement after receiving an error during DC charging. Model S has covered 700,000 kilometers today. The vehicle can travel longer than the original battery with a full charge range of around 400 km.

🔌Charging an electric car is not much different from plugging in and starting a household appliance. As long as you pay attention to grounding, cable cross-section if you use an extension, and do not use the extension cable wrapped and cause overheating.

The single/three-phase AC coming from the network first passes through the PFC (power factor correction) stage and then through the LCC converter, where it is converted into DC which the battery can store.
For AC charging to be carried out smoothly, a fuse and cable suitable for the maximum AC charging speed of the vehicle must be used. While a 3x6mm2 cable and 20A fuse may be sufficient for a car that supports 7.4 kW AC charging, 5×10-20mm2 cable, and 40A fuses will be needed for Togg T10X reaching 22 kW speed.

Can EVs Be Charged At Home? What are the  Insecureness?

⚡Sodium ion battery startup Tiamat announced that it will establish a 5 GWh capacity factory in France.
🏭The company also managed to raise 22 million euros in investment in the last round led by #Stellantis. Tiamat&#8217;s second-generation sodium cells will be produced in the facility to be established.
🔋The sodium ion battery promises great potential as it can be charged at high speed, has a much longer lifespan compared to lithium-ion, does not lose range/performance in winter, and is much cheaper.
🟢 In addition to the cell with 140-160 Wh/kg energy density and 5C discharge value (full charge/discharge in 12 minutes), the French startup is developing another cell that can be charged in 6 minutes and maintain over 80% of its capacity even after 5,000 cycles.
🚗The sodium batteries that Tiamat will start producing in 2025 can be used in affordable Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel cars shortly.

The electric SUV model Sterra ET was introduced in November 2023 and will be rolled off the production line next week.
The Chinese manufacturer will launch the 5-meter-long SUV under the #Exeed sub-brand. It is also developed on the E0X platform, just like the efficiency record-breaking Sterra ES. Promising a range of 150 km with just 5 minutes of charging, the company achieves superior performance, low energy consumption, and high charging speed thanks to its 800V electrical architecture and silicon carbide chip inverter.
Exeed, designed by Chery as a global brand, will introduce the Sterra ET model with its competitive price to customers in Q1 of 2024. It is not yet known when the brand will make its first export.

E-3008 has a 73 kWh battery, 155 kW (211 HP) engine, and a range of 527 km. The vehicle will compete with models such as #Togg T10X and #Renault Scenic this year with a starting price of €44,699.
The electric 3008, was developed on an inherently electric platform that Stellantis calls STLA Medium. It will be sold at a competitive price at the same level as the gasoline 3008.
A long-range version of the vehicle can travel 700 km on a single charge thanks to a 98 kWh battery. This model is expected to be priced above €50,000.
