The Chinese automaker intends to license its next-generation car platform to JLR, with whom it already produces vehicles in its home country.
奇瑞汽车 Chery Automobile Co.,Ltd. announced two days ago that they had reached agreements with two European luxury brands, and according to Chinese media, they are also in discussions with Alfa Romeo and Maserati.
The platform in question is believed to be the E0X used in the Exeed Sterra ES and ET models. It features an 800V electrical architecture, a thermal management system that increases efficiency by 30% in winter, fully electronic chassis control, 5G connectivity support, and radar, camera, and sensor systems suitable for fully autonomous driving, making it one of the most aerodynamic vehicles on the market.
It is estimated that the first models produced under the platform sharing agreement could be available by 2026.
